I had an impromptu phone interview where I was asked to come in for an in person interview. After what I thought was a great interview, I was told a decision would be made within 2 weeks. After a month of not hearing anything, I reached out to them and received a short and stern email back stating that they offered the job to someone else and good luck. Ive worked in HR for over 10 years and find that to be a big slap in the face. It sounds like it may have been a blessing in disguise though...The office was dirty, unorganized and dumpy. Only 2 of my 3 interviewers showed up.
