      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Mosaic Company

      Interview

Got a call from an HR recruiter and scheduled a phone screen. Phone screen consisted of going over previous work history that was listed on resume, why I am interested in the position and the company, salary expectations, and behavioral questions about safety, handling conflict, managing multiple tasks, and troubleshooting lab equipment. One behavioral question for each topic. I did good on the phone screen and later got a call about a week or so to schedule an onsite interview. I arrived there about 15 minutes early and the security guard made me watch a 20 minute safety video. After watching the video I waited probably another 15-20 minutes to be escorted to the interview conference room. Once I was brought into the conference room the hiring manager jumped right into the interview (it was a panel of 3). No apologies from them for starting the interview late and no introductions from the panel. The interview had a serious vibe to it. Almost like being interrogated. Questions were typical interview questions like tell us about yourself, what interest you in the job/company, working under pressure to meet a deadline, what you value most in co-worker or team, what qualities would make a good lab tech, preferred relationship with co-workers. There was also 2 basic chemistry questions that are really easy to answer if you have ever worked in a lab. How to raise or decrease pH of a solution and how to make a standard solution.
