Interview
The interview process was straightforward and professional. After submitting my application, I was contacted by email to schedule a virtual interview with my potential advisor. During the meeting, we discussed my previous research experience, motivation for joining the lab, and how my skills aligned with the project goals. The interviewer also explained the lab’s ongoing research and expectations for graduate assistants. Overall, it was conversational and focused on academic and research fit.

I described my master’s thesis on materials characterization, highlighting how I developed technical and analytical skills, learned to work independently, and gained experience presenting findings to diverse audiences. I also explained how these skills would help me contribute effectively to the new research group.

The interview process was very smooth, and the professor made me feel comfortable. The professor was interested in learning about my background, my motivation, my interests and shared information about the funding project. He explained the deliverables and what was expected of me as a GRA.

Interview
Ohio State has the standard interview process for physics grad schools. You submit an application and if you are approved, there's an open house you can attend before you make your decision. There was no formal, sit-down interview.
Two times of interview. In the first time, just one professor interview me. In the second time, there are four professor give me the interview. The question is not too hard to answer.
