Interview questions were very badly formulated - a single question contained more than one question. This is a format that is not accessible to those who are neurodivergent, myself included.
Also, none of the questions explicitly asked for an example or set out a scenario, which is shockingly bad (they wanted me to describe my ‘experience’), which left me guessing whether this was even competency-based.
There were a few open-ended questions, including on the thematic area.
And to top it up, after I asked about the role at the end of the interview, the hiring manager said the role had a strong customer service component - yet, oddly, there was not a single question asked to test this specific client/customer dynamic (only a vague question on managing relationships).
Finally, the role was advertised as having “competitive salary” - at the first telephone interview, they lowball you with a disappointing salary range - 34k for an all-round role at Thomson Reuters, in one of the most expensive cities in the world - I mean really? It’s not really commensurate with the role’s responsibilities - and had me already highly demotivated going into the interview.
