I went through multiple interview steps, including a take-home assignment. While I was excited about the opportunity initially, I ultimately found the experience disappointing and unprofessional. The interviewers were not very welcoming and created an atmosphere that felt dismissive. There was a noticeable lack of professionalism and preparedness, which made it difficult to feel respected as a candidate. Additionally, the take-home assignment was poorly communicated and lacked clear instructions or expectations. I asked clarifying questions but still received vague responses, which resulted in wasted time and effort on my part. It felt unfair to be evaluated on a task that was not clearly defined. Constructive feedback I would offer TrackVia to significantly improve the candidate experience is to provide clear instructions, better communication, and more respectful interactions with candidates.

First interview was a screening call with who I originally thought was the hiring manager. 2nd interview was with hiring manager and two members of the team. They all took turns asking questions in a round robin style setting. After 2nd interview, I was given a take home assignment. I had a family emergency come up and was unable to attend the meeting to discuss the assignment. They still had the voice notes going, so I got a chance to hear how they really felt about me as a potential candidate. During this leaked conversation, they discussed how they felt another candidate was more qualified and that I probably didn't care about the position. It was also stated that the hiring decision was being left up to one person...who wasn't even the manager but a potential colleague that the person in this position would work with,. They later apologized and stated that it was an "opportunity" for them to improve hiring practices. Very distasteful and unprofessional for the candidate to be able to hear such an unfiltered conversation that was supposed to remain internal.
