I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Trane Technologies (Columbus, OH) in Jan 2010
Interview
Phone interview first, in-person scheduled a few weeks later. Interview process was very thorough and everyone was friendly. I was assured that promotion from within was the standard, but have since learned that's not necessarily the case. Hiring process takes a long time; it was 3 weeks from the initial phone interview until I heard back about the job. This seems to be the standard.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Trane Technologies (Minneapolis, MN) in Mar 2012
Interview
Temp to hire in a different position led to job offer in newly created position. I was offered the job but was required to go through interview process although I don't know if there were any other applicants. Pretty standard interview, in my opinion it was a formality. The company did a background check and drug screen and I began the job immediately. I was not given any training and it was (and continues to be) trial by fire.
