      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (Saint Louis, MO) in May 2015

      Interview

Very shielded. No direct interaction with anyone. A digital interview where the concept is excellent from an efficiency standpoint, they ask very broad questions which you have to answer in a timed setting with no queue to know how much time you have left. "Review your resume for us" you have a 1 minute reply allowed and then you are cut off. They ask a total of five questions which most are behavioral in slant. Allowed to "practice' before but this only acquaints you with the technological aspect of the process.

      Question 1

Please review your resume. (20 sections to prepare/1 minute to answer).

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors in Sep 2015

      Interview

I applied for the position on their website. Two days later I received an email from a recruiter inviting me to submit a video interview. I answered five questions using the video interviewing platform Kira Talent (heard the question in a pre-recorded video, 30 seconds to prepare, and two minutes to answer while being recorded by my web-cam that Kira accesses). I recorded my responses that same day. Ten days later I was contacted by a different recruiter asking me to submit another video interview. I wasn't sure if it was a subsequent interview round or if she was mistaken in asking me to submit the same interview again, so I emailed her requesting clarification. She said that I did not need to submit another video interview and invited me to have a phone interview. Five days later I had the phone interview. She was OVER 45 MINUTES LATE in calling and offered no apology. She then proceeded to invite me to a second interview via Skype, but wanted to tell me more about the position to make sure I wanted to proceed. She then explained the expected schedule (45 hours a week with paltry $30,000 salary, working weekends rotating with three-day weekends, etc.). I expressed my desire to continue with a second interview and gave her some dates and times I was available. She promised to email me with the second interviewer's availability. Six days later, without explanation and despite the fact that she had already offered me a second interview, she emailed saying that I was no longer being considered for the job. Overall this experience was unprofessional and a waste of time. No wonder Varsity Tutors is trying to hire more recruiters- the one I worked with was disorganized and a poor reflection of the company.

      Interview

Interview process was very streamlined. I conducted interviews with both my supervisor, her supervisor, and the vice president of Varsity Tutors.I was asked about my educational background, performed a mock recruitment interview with my supervisor, and ultimately was hired. Everyone I interviewed with was very professional and had worked with Varsity Tutors for a number of years.
