I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Venable LLP (Washington, DC) in Jul 2017
Interview
Venable made associates feel welcoming and assigned offices to them while the interviewers moved from office to office. All interviewees were also given a tour of the office. The structure of the firm and the practice areas were discussed. The firm followed up with housing options after acceptance of job.
I applied online. I interviewed at Venable LLP (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2026
Interview
Call with the recruiter consisting of standard behavioral questions, along with time set aside for me to ask thoughtful questions about the role, the team, and the overall recruiting process.
People were very friendly and informative. I found that even when I thought I didn’t do well, they really were nice and enjoyed my interview. It wasn’t as high pressure as I made it in my head.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Venable LLP (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2022
Interview
Super friendly, very kind. Interview was pretty relaxed, however it is still good to be well prepared. Overall, it was a nice experience and I believe there were three levels, including junior and senior associates and a partner.

Question 1
I honestly don't remember the interview questions, however I don't believe there were STAR situational questions (although I would still recommend preparing for them)
