I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at VendorPM in Feb 2026
Interview
I applied online and completed three interview rounds.
The first stage was an initial screening call with a member of the hiring team. The call was scheduled for approximately 30 minutes but lasted around 15 minutes. During this conversation I was asked standard introductory questions such as “Tell me about yourself,” “Why are you interested in the company?” and “How do you handle rejection?” The conversation itself was friendly and gave a positive first impression of the organization.
The second interview was with two members of the team I would potentially be working with. This meeting was also scheduled for 30 minutes but lasted about 15 minutes. The discussion felt very brief and informal, and I left the interview feeling somewhat uncertain about the expectations of the role. There was limited discussion about the responsibilities, team structure, or what success in the role would look like. Because of this, it was difficult to fully understand how the position fit within the broader organization.
The final interview was with a senior leader. This meeting lasted roughly 10 minutes. During the conversation, I was asked why the company should hire me if I did not have certain experiences that were mentioned during the discussion. This was confusing because those particular requirements had not been strongly emphasized in the earlier stages of the interview process or in the job description. By the time I reached the final interview stage, I assumed my background had already been evaluated and considered appropriate for the role.
The final interview felt extremely brief and did not include much discussion about the role itself, the team, or the company’s goals. Overall, the hiring process felt somewhat misaligned between stages, as expectations around required experience did not appear to be clearly communicated earlier in the process.
I received a generic rejection email shortly afterward, and I later noticed the same role was reposted.

Question 1
• Tell me about yourself
• Why do you want to work at the company?
• How do you handle rejection?
• Why should we hire you if you don’t have XYZ experience?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VendorPM (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2025
Interview
The process consisted of four stages: an initial HR screening call, a 30-minute video call with the COO, a product review/presentation phase and a final presentation to the same COO and a product person helping VendorPM. The timeline was approximately three weeks, occurring during the December holiday season.
Communication was initially prompt, with the HR reaching out the day after application. However, the final stage was unprofessional: the COO joined the final presentation from a noisy restaurant/cafe, making it difficult to hear or maintain a meaningful dialogue. Despite reaching the final stage, I received a generic rejection email with no specific feedback, only to see the same role reposted the morning before my rejection was officially sent.

Question 1
They asked me to conduct a deep-dive review of an AI chatbot integration and present a strategy on how I would prepare an implementation plan.

Interview
Got an email from their HR, asking me some basic questions, then invited me to the next round, the interviewer is their ex-employee. Used my personal hours for the interview, waited for the interview, got ghosted... They rescheduled it for me, asked me three SQL questions, answered all of them, answers accepted. Got rejected two days later. Maybe they just go through the motions for the rescheduled interview, what a waste of time.
