I applied through college or university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Verizon in Oct 2013
Interview
Was contacted by campus recruiting, had one phone screening and two 45 minute interviews.
Interviews were standard, behavioral questions. The first one was with an HR Rep and the 2nd was with two technical reps.
Interview process was good overall, enjoyed speaking to each representative.
They took a long time to get back to me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
None of the questions were particularly difficult. They asked about technical experiences, where you should go into a lot of detail
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Verizon (Chennai) in Aug 2025
Interview
270 students for OA. 99 students for in-person process (3 rounds).
Round 1, Group discussion. 10 students per group. My group's topic was "Global companies view India as a customer market. What are your thoughts on this?". Went pretty well, panelist had minimal interaction with us during the GD. I made sure to keep calm and not seem desperate to speak. If you speak only to seem active without actually contributing significant knowledge then that's a red flag.
Round 2. Technical interview. Every student had a different experience, The interviewers weren't following a fixed pattern. What worked for me was to know my resume and projects inside out. I deliberately spoke a lot about my project. Most of my time was occupied by project and internship discussion. After this interviewer asked me about DSA. Very very basic. Only concept based, Didn't have to code.
Round 3. HR Interview. Felt like a formality since it was a short conversation, Only about 10 minutes, Nothing they could evaluate me on. Just getting to know my personality maybe.
Notes: Interviews were definitely getting harder as the day progressed. Candidates who had interviews 2-3 hours after me had more difficult interviews and it really felt like they were trying to eliminate more candidates. You are lucky if you go first.
