I applied online. I interviewed at Verkada in Mar 2021
Interview
Applied online, received an invitation to phone interview a week later.
I was super excited to interview!
Unfortunately, I found the interviewer seemed rather junior in his interviewing approach, maybe I caught him on a bad/stressful day, but he did not appear to have reviewed my experience or even seem interested in interviewing me which ultimately led me extremely disappointed in my highly anticipated interview with Verkada.
While I was asking typical questions at the end of the call, the recruiter informed me that he thought my experience did not align with the role. I was a bit taken back by this because my experience length, depth of responsibilities and values paralleled the description of the role and company--- this was also highlighted on my resume which I assumed would’ve been screened beforehand. I wasn’t given a clear understanding where my experience didn’t fit in with Verkada.
Unfortunately, this type of interviewer costs companies’ perfectly good candidates. Prejudgments for positions they have no experience in themselves leads to biased views and ultimately, a loss of a perfectly good candidate.
Do you research about a company and the diversity before moving forward with any company. Unless you fit the mold, you will most likely have more difficulty interviewing altogether.
The staff seem to be seeking out a certain characteristic for the role.

Question 1
This happened so long ago but I only remember how the interview made me feel.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA)
Interview
-recruiter reached out on LinkedIn; had phone interview
-Zoom interview with member of team
-on-site interview with 5 people
Had a 3 hour on-site interview with the team. Was told during the interview “people who work here really feel like they have no purpose outside of their job here” and “even when people are on vacation they’re still working” so be warned that’s what’s expected of you there.
Received a rejection email that said “we have decided not to proceed with your candidacy for a recruiting role at Verkada”, when I had interviewed for an Executive Assistant role. Super professional considering the amount of time they made me interview with them.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA) in May 2023
Interview
Extremely thoughtful, organized, and genuine interview experience. From the initial conversation, all the way to the onsite interview and beyond, I felt supported by every single member of the team (whom was involved with the position). I could not express more my gratitude for the kindness and thoughtful conversations the team provided.
