I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Vestmark in Oct 2017
Interview
Had a video interview, first question asked was what I knew about the company then we moved into some basic programming/Object Oriented questions and reviewed my skill set and work history. Things went well so we moved onto the next part of the process which is an online coding test (via Codality.com). The test consisted of 3 programming tasks and a fairly complex SQL query and you are given about 3 hours to complete all 4 questions. You get an email and can start the test when ever you like - but you can not pause the timer. The coding questions are not that complex but where a bit tedious (string manipulation type stuff) imho. The SQL query seemed overly complex, required a join and creation of temporary values (e.g. if field has this value they get 10, if it has this other value they get 20, etc...)
Overall, the process was smooth and straightforward. The first round was a 15-minute HR screening call, followed by a 30-minute conversation with the hiring manager. There were no technical interview questions; the discussion mainly focused on my past experience. Unfortunately, I did not move forward to the next round.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vestmark (Boston, MA) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview was mostly technical, coding and system design and behavioral at the end. Good and friendly people, and interview was very on the point for the job duties. Started with a 15 min recruiter screening, and couple of technical rounds, one system design round and one hiring manager interview.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vestmark (New York, NY) in Sep 2021
Interview
Fairly straightforward interview process. Had one round of talk with the hiring manager and then 3 team matching interviews with senior engineers/ architect. Questions were technical as well as design based and scenario based, what was a big turnoff was that after the whole interview process the recruiter asked me to provide atleast 3 professional references, later they reached back letting me know that they need more references as they were unable to contact the provided references(although checking with the professional refs provided they had already interacted with them and gave their feedback). I gave another few references and the most surprising part is that the hiring manager asking the professional references to apply and consider applying for the same position and explore opportunities in this organization which is a conflict of interest and disheartening to the prospective candidate being considered. Also lack of follow ups from recruiter post the interview, regarding any potential offer is not expected.
