I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at W.W. Norton in Apr 2025
Interview
I only did one interview over Zoom with the person who would be my supervisor. Overall it was very casual and a good experience - we talked about my experience, what I wanted out of the internship, and what our current reads are (super important! remember that publishing is about the books & connecting with your interviewer over books is a really good way to be memorable while displaying your knowledge of publishing.)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are some career goals you would like to achieve in the next 5ish years?
The interview was very easy. I only had to do one interview and then I received an offer about two weeks later. My interviewer was very friendly and personable and easy to talk to.
Straightforward phone screen with human resources and then with the intern manager. It included the usual interview questions and a discussion of your favorite books and how the intern program would work.
