When I submitted my application I was told quite quickly that the position had already been filled (so would have appreciated it if the out of date advert had been taken down). However I was told to get back in contact in 3 months, which I did. Nic Pantucci said there might be a role for me and after some back and forth we managed to get a phone conversation organised. He was very nice on the phone and I thought the job sounded interesting. However, I did mention prior to the phone interview that I would have liked to have a job description for the role, as it was different from the original one I applied for.
Nic got back in touch with me a week or so later and said that I needed to do a practice task for them, which sounded fair to me. However, I wanted to know what the salary was as the advert had simply claimed it was 'dependent on experience'. He replied saying that the role would be minimum wage. Having completed over a year's worth of relevant work experience and a doctorate I felt I had to say that I couldn't accept that kind of salary. I never heard back after that. I would have liked a 'thank you for your interest, good luck in the future sort of reply' and was disappointed with the silence.
This is a start up and as you'd expect, there's not a lot of structure (at least from what I could tell) and the pay is bound to be pretty terrible. My advice is that if you're younger and really need the experience, this might be the place for you but, even so, know your worth as a worker and trust your instincts.
