After the initial call with the recruiter, I participated in a live coding challenge. Unlike typical challenges that focus on algorithms and data structures, this one centered on practical problem-solving. However, the interviewer's approach wasn't very collaborative. Instead of clearly outlining expectations, they requested improvements to the entire codebase, including sections I hadn't written. Addressing immutability within the code was time-consuming, and updating the corresponding test cases to reflect those changes would have required further time. Unfortunately, the interviewer didn't seem receptive to this and suggested moving on if it would take too long. This lack of flexibility and unclear communication made me wonder about the outcome of the interview, which was later confirmed by the rejection email from the recruiter.
