As a not-fluent-in-German foreigner, I was pleasantly surprised to find a job advertisement that was written in English and that was all about inclusivity. Unfortunately, during the job interview I found out these were all fake promises. No one asked me whether I was comfortable speaking in German rather than in English and they just assumed I was a student who knows how to speak their language (I know how to, I’m simply not comfortable speaking it yet and no one cared). They made me do a single task for two hours and all this time I was completely unsupervised and after that they gave me the excuse that they’ll “let me know” because they needed to “evaluate” my performance, which no one even bothered to check if I was doing it or not. Needless to say I was rejected, but I’m not surprised. Zalando, where is the inclusivity you like to preach so much? There were only Germans in the building, and it seems they’re only focused on hiring Germans. What a pity.

Lengthy process with multiple rounds for different positions . The interviews were relatively easy and geared towards team fit and culture . 3 rounds of interview per role or position

I recently had a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager at this company, and my experience left me somewhat disappointed. While I understand the necessity of time constraints during interviews, I felt that this duration didn't allow me to adequately showcase my abilities and qualifications for the role. I could not even introduce myself properly, only a quick summary once I also had questions about the role because I wanted to check if was a good opportunity and if it matched my goals. So, my experience was not good this time. :(

Process involved about 6 interviews each 45-1hr long. No clear written information about the process, basic information in the interviews and no-one seemed to know the full picture of your application. Sometimes 3 interviews in 1 block requested, so be prepared to take half a day for multiple interviews. A number of interviews were scheduled and were cancelled on the spot for various reasons (interviewer not aware of the interview, position no longer open for external candidates) - candidates' time not respected in the process at all. The number of emails relating to the application and interviews are high. Lots of opportunities to streamline. The work and potential colleagues in the team made a good impression. Zalando is going through a restructure, lots of changes to jobs advertised, so be open to change and the advertised position being deleted midway through the process.

2-3 rounds after the initial HR screening interview. First manager round - standard interview questions about strengths and weaknesses, could be a behavioral question on what would you do in a certain situation. I recommend thinking about company values and the goal of the role to answer them. The last round is a presentation, to which you have 1-2 days to prepare. You have 5 min to present, then speaking with the manager about your experience, why you want this position etc.,
- Why do you want this role/why should we hire you
- Imagine this scenario: you are working with an agency but they are being difficult and aren't delivering on a certain point, and asking for more money. How would you manage this situation?
