I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at eBay in May 2011
Interview
I was contacted by HR after my resume was sent by a friend who works there. An on site interview was set up fairly quick to meet with the hiring manager and the team. The whole interview took about 2 hours
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in Jun 2019
Interview
I've interviewed at a number of companies these past few months, and eBay was probably the worst as far as interview process is concerned. I applied online and got an email from a recruiter to schedule my phone interview with the hiring manager as a first step. It's nice that they skipped the recruiter phone screen. The call with the hiring manager was a straightforward interview, with the most common interview questions being asked, with the exception of "Do you shop on eBay?". The fact that they asked me this question is telling about how they view themselves as a company (it comes across as insecure). This is where it got bad. After that call, a couple of weeks passed with radio silence. I followed up with the recruiter who told me that feedback was positive and she wanted to schedule a call to discuss next steps and she asked for my availability that week. I of course provided it, but after that point she GHOSTED me. I followed up again to see if we could find a time that works, but still no response. I will never apply for a job at eBay again. What a waste of time.
