I was headhunted for a role supporting iPayLinks's new strategic subsidiary (EurewaX) for the Vietnam market. The process spanned over 2 months and involved 4 rounds of interviews, including the Head of Sales, COO, and external Investment stakeholders.
Despite the professional demeanor of the interviewers, the strategic organization was chaotic. They launched simultaneous searches for 3 different markets (Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia) without having the budget or product readiness to execute them. After I passed the final Investor round, the Vietnam role was suddenly "postponed" indefinitely.
Pros:
The interviewers were generally polite and professional.
The initial screening stage was relatively fast.
Cons:
Bait & Switch: After completing all rounds, weeks of silence. They revealed they could not open the full-time headcount. They attempted to pivot the offer to a commission-only "Agent" partnership instead.
Product Readiness: They are interviewing BDM for a market where their core product (payout infrastructure) is not yet compliant or ready.
Free Consulting: The later stages felt less like an interview and more like a free consultation session to solve their regulatory and banking blockers.
