I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at koppla
Interview
After the initial screening with a 3rd party recruiter, I was asked to submit a case study with a list of requirements to design a feature in their own product using some of their own design system assets. I was rejected without any feedback. Very sketchy.
I interviewed for the Product Designer role at Koppla and the experience was disappointing. The first call ended about 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, and the person interviewing me came across as distant and disengaged from the start. It felt as though an opinion had already been made about me before the conversation even began, which made it nearly impossible to properly discuss my skills or experience.
This role has been reposted multiple times over the past two months, which suggests the company is struggling to hire for it. That’s why the lack of openness and professionalism during the interview was even more concerning.
The rejection was expected after the way the interview went, but the experience left me with a poor impression of the company. We all know how stressful hiring can be and the amount of work recruiters manage, but there is a thin line between being stressed and being disrespectful.
I share this to help other candidates navigate similar outcomes: don’t let the attitude of the person interviewing you make you doubt your own value.
