      Managing Editor, Blog Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at lululemon (Vancouver, BC) in Aug 2013

      Interview

After a brief phone screening with a recruiting intern, I was called in to head office. The advice I read beforehand here on Glassdoor both saved me and sunk me, as I was totally prepared with my completed goal sheet for both discussions — an essential item for this company! However, I'd also read on here to dress professionally, and I think this was a mistake. It seemed to have made everyone uncomfortable (especially me.) I should have worn brand new head-to-toe Lululemon, as it would have made me more of a subconscious fit with the employees. Either way, the15-minute interview turned into little more than a casual chat about which yoga studios we liked as they had already decided to give the position to an internal candidate. Whether it was me, them, or some other factor that kept me from getting a third interview, it's good to note that their preference is definitely to hire from within, so starting at the retail store will definitely give you an edge for getting into corporate. Good luck! I hope your Lulu story has a happier ending.
