I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at nearmap (Sydney) in May 2021
Interview
Didn't feel right, even though the technical questions that were thrown at me were valid and to a certain degree applicable to the daily job of an engineer, the interaction with the interviewers felt like I was back in high school and I was being interrogated by the principal and a teacher. Didn't feel like a genuine, two-way conversation. I ended up not having time to ask questions to them but it didn't really bother me since I wasn't really interested after that interview.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at nearmap (Sydney)
Interview
Interview process was quite smooth. Had a 1:1 conversation with the Director of Engineering and got to know the overall role and product. Then had a simple coding test and a follow up conversation revolving the test and some more technical questions. Lastly had an informal meet and greet.
