Field Service Technician

What You'll Do
Equipment Diagnostics & Repairs
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment issues.
- Analyze equipment failures and determine the most effective repair solutions.
- Perform equipment modifications and repairs to improve reliability and performance.
- Utilize diagnostic software, schematics, and specialized testing equipment to identify and resolve problems.
- Upload, download, and troubleshoot equipment management and VMS software systems.
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled maintenance services according to customer contracts and OEM recommendations.
- Inspect equipment for potential concerns and recommend proactive repairs.
- Help customers maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
Customer Service & Communication
- Build strong customer relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and technical expertise.
- Clearly communicate findings, repair recommendations, and equipment status updates.
- Represent the company with integrity and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Documentation & Safety
- Accurately complete service reports, work orders, inspection forms, and related documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies, customer safety policies and industry best practices.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment at customer locations.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Service Management, Dispatch, Parts, and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional service.
- Support company initiatives and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment; read and interpret technical manuals, service procedures, wiring & hydraulic diagrams, and maintenance schedules.
- Prior experience using multimeters, test software and diagnostic tools.
- Experience working with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient using computers, service software, and electronic diagnostic software.
- Commitment to staying current with industry technology and equipment advancements, but with the ability to quickly adapt to evolving technologies and industry advancements.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes.
- Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to climb, kneel, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
Experience & Education
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing Material Handling or Construction equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Hydraulic systems
- Electrical systems
- Diesel engines
- Powertrain components
- Preventative maintenance programs
Preferred
- Experience in equipment repair, industrial maintenance, construction equipment, forklifts, material handling equipment, automotive, diesel, agricultural equipment, or related industries is highly desirable.
- OEM certifications and technical training are a plus.
