Description Situated next to the largest body of water on earth is a pretty big body of knowledge: the University of the Pacific. The school offers 80 majors and academic programs in such fields as art, Asian languages and studies, biology, business, computer science, engineering, history, and music. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs in nine colleges, and enrolls nearly 6,700 students at its main campus in Stockton, California, the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, and the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. California's first chartered institution of higher education, the university was founded in 1851.
