I have been working at BuildDirect full-time (Less than a year)
Scrappy but mature start-up proving itself in huge market; movement towards more profitable pro customer segment is creating new problems and challenges that will be impactful to solve; company is structure leaner and burn rate is lower so we have more time to prove our business model.
We have lost some key talent at all levels of the company over the past few months.
Advice to Management
Bringing in some external talent / experience is important at this point; balance by promoting from within through strategic career development planning (when possible)
I applied online. I interviewed at BuildDirect (Burnaby, BC (Canada)) in July 2017.
Applied for the position online and got an email from recruiter who followed up with me and wanted to schedule a brief 30 min phone interview. However, I NEVER received a call from the recruiter. I even emailed him back to see if the he wanted to reschedule. NOTHING. Then I decided to call the recruiter and even left a voicemail. NOTHING. Builddirect doesn't care about their prospective and current employees, they don't bother responding to an email or phone call. This says a lot about their company values and culture.
