Sekisui Chemical (named for a concept of power taken from Sun-Tsu's Art of War) is a central corporation of the Sekisui "keiretsu --" companies affiliated through cross-ownership. Its main segments include housing, urban infrastructure and environmental products, and high performance plastics. Prefabricated housing (detached steel-framed and wooden-framed construction), accounts for about half of its sales. Other products include plastic pipes and fittings (used in water and sewage systems), medical multifrequency body fat meters, pipe valves, foams for automotive and construction applications, and rain gutters. Sekisui Chemical is composed of around 200 companies.
