Mission Since its founding in 1917, Boys Town has welcomed all children, regardless of background or circumstances. At the time, this was seen as controversial, but Father Flanagan stood firm and embraced every child who needed hope, a home and a helping hand. His courage and values made Boys Town one of the first intentionally integrated communities in the United States.

Father Flanagan’s unwavering belief in treating each person individually remains the foundation of Boys Town. Today, we continue that legacy by building a culture of respect for all. We aim to attract, develop and retain employees who feel safe, valued and empowered to bring their full selves to work. Fostering a sense of belonging is at the heart of our mission to save children and heal families.
Description What began as the vision of one man – Father Edward J. Flanagan, Boys Town has been on a mission to change the way America cares for children and families for more than 100 years. What does Boys Town do?

We’ve grown from a tiny boarding home in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, to a leading national nonprofit offering exceptional care for the behavioral, emotional and physical health of children, families and patients.

The Hospital offers a broad range of hospital and clinic services, backed by 40 years of life-changing research to provide the latest, most innovative care to our patients. From acute pediatric inpatient hospitalization and surgical services to outpatient clinic visits to residential care for children and adolescents with severe behavioral disorders, our board-certified specialists and highly trained pediatric nurses focus on caring for the unique needs of children and their families.

Boys Town Hospital operates two hospitals at 555 North 30th Street in Omaha and 14000 Hospital Road on the campus of Boys Town, Nebraska. Accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital has 67 acute care licensed beds.
