Finally understand why 1 person gets promoted asap everywhere and others struggle, now that I see it from the other side. My MIL is a gem, my mom is a mess. MIL never went to college, never worked, never had a real education. But damn this woman is amazing. Organized, proactive, reliable, responsible, empathetic, great cook, diligent, etc. Everything you could want in a person. In contrast my IVY mom is a chaos monkey. She needs to be micromanaged and still makes a mess.

Diversity Programs & Initiatives

We take concrete steps to create an inclusive culture

We're proud to be home to Employee Resource Groups (ERG's) such as: Jades (our Asian Gems), Prisms (our LGBTQ identified Gems), and Obsidian (our Black Gems); we regularly run anonymous surveys to ensure all of our Gems feel a strong sense of belonging; and we hold company-wide DE&I forums to respond to what's happening outside Gem's doors.

  1. Customer Success Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in United States
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview
    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Gem (United States)

    Interview

One of the strangest interviews I have ever had. Had to create a presentation for a mock QBR to present to the Gem team who was acting as if they were a long term customer of Gem. When we got into the presentation , they took the angle of never utilizing Gem and having no interest in Gem. Which completely defeated the purpose of a typical QBR, which usually goes over performance and usage. This should have been communicated as this was a retention call or a sales pitch (since most of the team stated they never even heard of Gem). This made the whole presentation difficult considering the only ammo I had was the very basic information I learned about of Gem online. Also started to make me think that if there interview process is all about trying to retain customers, that must mean that will be the majority of your job.
    Interview

How did you think you did on the presentation? No other questions to learn about my experience.

#Juneteenth is important to us at Gem 💎 Two years ago, Obsidian (our Black Employee Resource Group) educated the company on the importance of Juneteenth — which is a holiday created to commemorate the end of slavery in the US and recognize the true day of freedom for #BlackAmericans. After the company discussion and recommendation from Obsidian, leadership took action to institute this as a company-wide holiday so that all Gems can reflect and learn the historical significance of this day. It was a true moment of everyone coming together to listen and learn from one another. We are thankful to all Gems for supporting and recognizing this important moment together as a company. #LifeAtGem #Juneteenth
