This isn't really a con but it could be for some people. Employees have flexibility with their work schedules but no one works from home on a regular basis. Some places allow 1-2days a week to work from home but the management team doesn't encourage that. You can WFH when you're sick or if you have some other thing going on. But you can't say that you work from home every Wednesday.

Sometimes there are too many meetings.

    Software Engineer Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Gem (San Francisco, CA) in December 2018.

ZenSourcer does a two day project based interview. The process starts the first day by establishing a couple of projects that you will work on during your interview. Once you adequately understand the projects with your interviewer, you begin designing and coding a solution. The approach is very collaborative. At each step, it's helpful to discuss tradeoffs with the interviewer.

Once you're done with the code, another engineer will do a live code review with you and discuss what choices you've made.

When you've addressed the code review comments you are able to actually land the code onto the live site!

I enjoyed meeting the team during this process and the collaborative nature of the interview.
