The Hub enables our 270-person R&D team to work alongside researchers and industry leaders to develop science-based solutions to challenges facing the forestry sector - climate change, deforestation, and ecosystem degradation. Last month, colleagues and partners from across RGE business groups spent time at Singapore cheshire home for our first 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 volunteering event of 2026, held in the spirit of Chinese New Year. The programme brought together employees who spent their working hours with residents, celebrating tradition and sharing meaningful moments. Moments like these remind us that businesses exist within communities. We conduct our businesses under our founder’s 5Cs philosophy: to do good for the community, country, climate and customers, and only then will it be good for the company. It is a principle that guides not only how we operate our businesses, but also how we give back. Golden Hearts is one of four quarterly volunteer initiatives planned for 2026. At Afro Fashion Day 2025, the foremost event celebrating African fashion and heritage in Brazil, Bracell set up two immersive dressing rooms with viscose handcrafted by women from Fábrica de Fardamentos, a Bracell-supported social enterprise. Partnering with stylist Fagner Bispo, Bracell also presented a men’s look in lightweight viscose – material derived from dissolving pulp produced by Bracell’s mill in Bahia. “Sponsoring Afro Fashion Day is a unique opportunity to connect our business with end consumers, showing how the pulp industry is present in people’s everyday lives,” said Rudine A., Managing Director of Bracell Bahia. Sateri recently hosted five youths from Singapore under the Singapore-China Youth Interns Exchange Scheme (YES). Jointly led by Singapore’s Ministry of Education, China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and 通商中国 Business China, this bilateral programme gives young people from both countries immersive overseas experiences to build cross-cultural understanding, industry skills, and lasting networks. These interns gained exposure across Sateri’s value chain - from viscose fibre product development and supply chain, to sales and account management. “Teamwork is paramount here – colleagues across functions collaborate closely, especially when handling customer order modifications or shipping adjustments between different factories,” observed Perion Lim, a Maritime Studies student from Nanyang Technological University Singapore. For others, it was the focus on sustainability that was the biggest takeaway. “The emphasis on environmental protection and low-carbon practices far exceeded my expectations,” says Lim Jun Yi, a Business Administration student from National University of Singapore.
