I have been working at Ricca Chemical full-time (More than 8 years)
The president/co-owner recently semi-retired to work on special projects. He tried to provide an improved work-life balance for people and was pretty caring. About a year ago he brought in several outside managers and several consultants to continue to make improvements and allow ownership to step back a bit and let people work. Ownership is having weekly meetings with all the plant mangers and below and really engaging the staff. I appreciate that he set the tone to be safe, take care of customers and speak our minds.
Pay is a little below average, but they have brought on new HR people that are working to address areas where they are not competitive. Sometimes slow to move, but they try to collaborate.
Advice to Management
Keep up with the changes started by Peter last year.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ricca Chemical (Arlington, TX) in February 2013.
interview is with the supervisor and the manager. They give a tour, introduce you the the people of all department. Show you the facility as a whole. Give you personal protective equipment to ensure safety. After that, they take you to and office for the interview
