Advice to Management
Keep focusing on employees!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ScriptPro (Kansas City, KS) in January 2017.
First time I have written a review that wasn't required to keep the Glassdoor membership.
Started with a phone screen, where they asked a few basic technical questions, mostly sql.
Second interview was in person with 3 people, mostly questions about past work experience.
I was told they hire based off problem solving abilities, and that if I had good problem solving abilities I would be fine. However I was rejected based off not having enough experience in related technologies? The phone screen questions were basic and the in person had 0 problem solving questions so I'm not sure if my experience was atypical but I wouldn't count on problem solving ability to get you the job.
The hiring panel except for the technical lead was very friendly and did it make seem like an interesting place to work.
All in all, I wouldn't do what I did spend Nine hours driving that day to interview with them and I wouldn't count on there being any real problem solving, but to be fair i think my opinion of the interview was pretty shaped by the technical lead being somewhat aggressive, which I understand, It is an interview. But he was also staring out the window when i was asking questions at the end about the company which I didn't expect, not after how they talked about themselves. The whole process was just very different from what I expected.
Focus on your past accomplishements, you're not going to get in on problem solving ability.
