    Pros

Beautiful place to work at times. Some managers are great. If you are motivated there are opportunities for education and on the job training.

    Cons

Severe weather at times, ever changing politics. Pay is below LA county standards for those that commute from the south. Cronyism and nepotism. Poor performing employees are allowed to perform poorly while high performs are not adequately compensated or acknowledged.

    Advice to Management

Staff is top heavy, lots of manager, directors, VP and not a lot of staff to address the actual work. Embrace a culture of trust and promote employees that perform well to retain good talent. Stop overspending for poorly implemented technology efforts.

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Tejon Ranch (Lebec, CA) in June 2015.

    Interview

I first met with the Controller, had a great convo that was to the point about the position and then met with the VP of Finance. Not as detailed as some but it seemed like they had gone over my resume previously in depth and were asking follow up questions to fill in the holes.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked for clarification of my skills and examples of my skills.   1 Answer
