Zebit is an eCommerce company that services U.S. credit-challenged (sub-prime, deep sub-prime, and thin-file) consumers across 50 states. The Company is mission driven and was founded to disintermediate predatory options that credit-challenged consumers are typically offered. These options include, but are not limited to, rent-to-own, payday loans, and high interest rate installment loans.
While Zebit is an eCommerce merchant, it also extends its balance sheet in the form of “store credit” to allow credit-challenged customers the ability to buy what they need and pay the remainder of the purchase over 6 months in equal installments. Zebit does not charge interest, late fees, or penalties of any kind, even if a buyer falls into delinquency or is written off completely. Zebit also does not use repayment mechanisms like ACH that result in non-sufficient funds fees or overdraft fees to the end consumer. These fees accounted for billions of dollars in 2021 and have contributed to trapping credit-challenged consumers in a cycle of debt.
