The company offers maintenance services for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), such as backup power equipment for protecting computer systems, or for stationary batteries, air conditioning, and stand-by generators. The company alleviates concerns over electric brownouts or spikes, enabling clients to also cut costs by tightening internal service departments. Its roster of 6,300-plus clients, half of whom are Fortune 500s, ranges from data centers to telecommunications and government offices like Microsoft, Sprint Nextel, and the US Defense Department. Chairman Stephen Frank formed the privately held company in 1992, his son Jon Frank is CEO.
