Description Andronico's Market operates about half a dozen upscale grocery stores in the San Francisco Bay area. In addition to gourmet and other specialty foods, Andronico's Market sells wine, kitchen gadgets and tableware and features European, in-store bakeries and health product sections. An influx of larger traditional and non-traditional grocery chains into the Bay Area has led to store closings in recent years, most recently the Andronico's Market in Palo Alto in 2011. Andronico's Markets was founded in 1929 by Greek immigrant Frank Andronico and today is run by president and CEO (and former grocery bagger) Bill Andronico, Frank's grandson. The chain was acquired out of bankruptcy by Renovo Capital in 2011.
