Mission OpenInvest was founded on a mission to build technology that helps to align people’s capital with their values and desired outcomes. We’re at the precipice of a massive undertaking: to seamlessly connect people’s values to their investments at a scale that has the potential to impact the global financial landscape.
As we take on this monumental task, we know that we have to set the standard and lead by example. That’s why we’re also focused on shaping the future of work by establishing a preeminent culture that champions employee actualization.
Description OpenInvest, a J.P. Morgan company, is on a mission to deliver technology that mainstreams values-based investing while aiming to transform the asset and wealth management space. Originally founded in 2015 by Conor Murray, Josh Levin, and Phillip Wei, OpenInvest began as a public benefit corporation that helped investors make more informed decisions grounded in their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. With backing from Andreessen Horowitz and YCombinator, we were able to grow before eventually getting acquired by J.P. Morgan in 2021.
For OpenInvest, sustainable finance is just the beginning—we’re also passionate about shaping the future of work through transparency, flexibility, and a culture that helps every employee reach their fullest potential. Our unique position unlocks the best attributes of banks and fintechs: the stability and built-in market of a globally recognized firm with the agility and growth mindset of a startup.
Ever since OpenInvest’s founding, we knew we wanted to tackle a challenging, ambitious problem with a passionate and driven team. We believe that technology can enable people to express their full multi-faceted selves—and by leveraging that untapped potential through finance, we can forge a new path together. The stakes are higher than ever, and we’re just getting started.
