Burke Rehabilitation, a member of the Montefiore Health System, today announced that it has been granted $1 million in state capital funding to build a CT scanner suite at Burke’s 150-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in White Plains. The CT scanner will save time in diagnosing and treating patients’ illnesses and injuries, improving outcomes and creating a more seamless care experience for patients who are today sent to other facilities in the area for CT scans. The new CT scanner suite is made possible by $500,000 secured by Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, $250,000 secured by Senator Shelley Mayer, and $250,000 secured by Assembly Member Amy Paulin. The funding, part of New York’s Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability and Technology Program, will be deployed in 2025. The addition of a CT scanner suite complements several recent expansions across Burke’s continuum of care. In 2024, Burke implemented inpatient hemodialysis, allowing Burke to now care for post-acute patients with kidney and late-stage renal disease. The organization also expanded its outpatient footprint in 2024. Further growth is on the horizon in 2025 and beyond, as Burke works to introduce new services to improve its care and experience as it serves more individuals.
