"Share and share alike" could be the motto of this hospital services cooperative. The not-for-profit Monmouth-Ocean Hospital Service, also known as MONOC, is comprised of more than a dozen acute care hospitals in New Jersey that share the costs and resources associated with the provision of pre-hospital emergency care. MONOC provides mobile intensive and critical care, ambulance transport, helicopter services, and advanced life support to nearly 3 million residents in the Garden State. The organization also provides continuing medical education to EMTs and other medical professionals, police officers, and the general public. All of MONOC's emergency services are coordinated by the statewide 911 dispatch center.
