Started in 1965 by Indiana Restaurant Hall of Fame member Carl Fogelsong, Clancy’s Hamburgers was the first double-drive thru fast food restaurant in the midwest. We believe that hospitality, when done well, can be a transformative force in a community.

Steak ‘n Shake

Steak ‘n Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Gus Belt, Steak ‘n Shake’s founder, pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milk shakes. For over 80 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word “steak” stood for STEAKBURGER. The term “shake” stood for hand-dipped MILK SHAKES. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. To prove his point that his burgers were exceptionally prime, he would wheel in a barrel of steaks (including round, sirloin, and T-bones) and grind the meat into burgers right in front of the guests. Hence arose the origin of our famous slogan, “In Sight It Must Be Right.” After 80 years, we are continuing Steak n Shake’s tradition of serving the country’s best, freshest, and tastiest burgers and shakes.

Founded in June 2007 and based in Denver, Colorado’s Cherry Creek neighborhood, the first Smashburger opened with one simple notion in mind: to serve a better burger and, in the process, helped create a new category. The brand smashed convention to deliver an all-in better burger experience focused on fresh, quality ingredients, a cool, hip environment, and exceptional service conducive to a busy modern lifestyle. In October 2015, Smashburger Master LLC, agreed to sell a significant stake to Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC). Jollibee is the largest restaurant company in the Philippines, operating more than 3,000 restaurants, including Burger King Philippines, Red Ribbon, Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, and with 30% of its restaurants outside the Philippines. Today, Jollibee is the 100% owner of Smashburger and seeks to solidify the brand in the U.S. before its next chapter of growth in the U.S. and abroad, which includes organic growth, unit expansion and new acquisitions. In July 2019, Jollibee announced the acquisition of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf moving further towards their vision of becoming one of the “Top Five” restaurant companies in the world. Jollibee is characterized by a culture of trust, humility, collaboration, decisiveness and executional excellence.

Good Times Burgers

We believe that spirit and hunger for wanting something better plays no small role in the success we’ve enjoyed at Good Times since opening our first little burger place in Boulder, Colorado back in 1987. Our goal then, and now, was to make better fast food in every way possible. Using notably better ingredients. Served up hot (or cold, as the case may be with our much-loved frozen custard). And always crave-worthy and delicious. We must have gotten things right. Not long after opening that single location tucked in the shadow of the legendary flatirons in Boulder, we started sprouting a bunch of other Good Times locations throughout Colorado and Wyoming. We grew. Our reputation grew. But we tried to stay humble in the face of success. That’s a Colorado thing, too. Today, it’s become a badge of authentic Colorado-ness to know that your favorite burger place is local and real in every way. Hardly traditional. But most certainly a Colorado tradition.
