In addition to the usual silver bells and cockle shells, Earl May also offers seeds, fish and small pets, pet supplies, patio furniture, lawn chemicals, and gifts in its Grandmother's Attic department. Earl May founded his namesake company in 1919 in the small southwest Iowa town of Shenandoah. It is now led by his granddaughter, president Betty Jane Shaw, and her husband, CEO Bill Shaw.
