The foundation of Argan's business is building bases. Part construction company, part real estate firm, Argan designs, constructs, leases, and manages logistics bases and other distribution facilities. The company, which owns dozens of properties throughout France, has built and currently leases more than 600,000 square meters (or about 6.5 million sq. ft.) of space. Its tenants include consumer and industrial goods manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical distributors, and shipping companies. It has counted DHL, Caterpillar, L'Oréal, and BSH Home Appliances as tenants. Argan was founded in 1993 by president Jean-Claude Le Lan.
