Description For over 80 years, Notions Marketing has been a leading provider of creative arts products and services to thousands of independent, regional, national, and global retailers.

Grand Rapids, Michigan has been our home since the early 1930’s when we started as a local distributor of school supplies and toys to local variety and drug stores. Notions’ assortment of merchandise has continued to expand as we’ve grown into and with new market segments and existing customers. Currently we have over 125,000 items in stock and add roughly 40,000 new SKUs to our distribution center each year.
Our distribution center, located in the Madison Square neighborhood, is vital to ensuring that our customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped with the care and efficiency they’ve come to expect from Notions.

Help us congratulate this month’s Employee Spotlight, Taylor! Taylor has been at Notions for almost two years as an Ecommerce Account Manager. In this role, she ensures that our B2C accounts are set up for success. Taylor collaborates with our B2C partners to grow profitable sales for them and for Notions. Taylor works to identify goals, challenges and needs of her accounts and makes sure that she sets strategies in all of those areas to best support their business. Helping accounts add new products, running promotions, and being their point person for all questions they may have. She also helps manage onboarding new B2C accounts! “My favorite part about my job is that I am able to problem-solve daily and create new processes/procedures when needed to keep moving forward. I also have a collaborative, dynamic team that is always there for support and for brainstorming!” The great work ethic you bring here to Notions has not gone unnoticed. Congratulations to Jericka, this month’s Employee Spotlight! Jericka has been with Notions for six years. Through the years, she has held multiple positions in operations. Some of those positions include fulfillment scanning, extraction lead, receiving coordinator and lead of 525. She is a trainer, a member of NEAT (The Notions Employee Activities Team) and the Notions Health and Wellness group! Jericka's current role as Lead consists of helping oversee and verify that all offsite receiving is correct. She also oversees the work management between all the functions at our 525 location. Being a crafty person, Jericka enjoys getting to see all the different products we carry. Using the cherry pickers and other equipment to zip around and do different tasks is another exciting part of her job. In her free time, she loves wandering wooded trails, photography and traveling back to Indiana where she is from to see family and friends. One thing Jericka can’t live without is her daughter and “mini-me” Gwendolyn. We’re lucky to have you, Jericka!...Show more

We’re starting off the year by recognizing January’s Employee Spotlight, Christina! Christina is our Human Resources Assistant. If you’ve stopped into the Notions 517 HR office in the last year or so, odds are she has helped you out. Many different tasks are involved in Christina’s role including managing the front desk, answering employee questions/needs, record-keeping, benefits administration, HR reporting, events, recruiting and onboarding. When asked what she likes about her job, she said she enjoys getting to know all the different employees and helping them navigate through the ups and downs of work and daily life. Christina also accredits the amazing HR team that she gets to work with every day. In her free time you will most likely find Christina camping, bike riding, watching football and hockey or spending time with family and friends. We are truly grateful for all that Christina does for our company and value her greatly....Show more

This holiday season, Notions Marketing is hosting an employee Christmas raffle with 100% of the proceeds going to Dickinson Elementary, a local school. We’ve been helping them all year with various initiatives - volunteering to read in their Kindergarten classes, donating coats and mittens for the winter, helping to keep them stocked up on school and office supplies, etc. This year-end Christmas fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity to raise some extra dollars for Dickinson Elementary to use on other special programs and any other needs....Show more

Meet Kathy, one of our Level 3 Packers/Shippers! Kathy has been a part of the Notions family for a dedicated 18 years! She trains and certifies employees on different tasks in the warehouse. Prior to her current position, Kathy would select and scan orders for our various accounts. One of her favorite parts about the job is that she gets to teach the new employees how the different areas of the warehouse operate and work together. In Kathy’s free time she enjoys watching football and hockey, camping and bike riding. The best place she has ever traveled to is Niagara Falls because of its beauty and strength.
