Citycon owns and develops European shopping centers. Its retail properties are primarily in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and other major cities in Finland as well as Sweden, Estonia, and Lithuania. Citycon's properties consist of some 35 shopping centers and 45 other retail properties. Not content to simply invest in and lease existing properties, Citycon's property development division acquires, develops, markets, and leases new retail properties. Its top tenant is Kesko, a large importer and wholesaler in Scandinavia and the Baltic that also operates some 600 retail stores. Citycon is a subsidiary of multinational real estate company Gazit Globe.
