Started in 1979 by Roy Spencer, Perma-Seal is proud to be the oldest and most experienced, family-owned waterproofing and foundation repair company in the Chicagoland area. After working for two other large waterproofing companies, he was dissatisfied with the low ethical standards and the "patch now and service 'em later" repairs that were commonplace in the industry. It was then that he started Perma-Seal, so that he could provide permanent repairs and be able to stand behind that work with integrity. Today, our focus continues to be centered around our clients and providing a superior customer experience through honest, ethical, high quality worked, completed by a business of integrity, and backed up by a solid warranty. Perma-Seal has proudly served over 500,000 homeowners in the greater Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana areas.

Family-owned and operated, we’ve built our home improvement company around our signature product, custom replacement windows, which we make ourselves right here in New York state. We’re a full-service home improvement and remodeling company, but we made our name in this business with our replacement windows. Our founder, Bill Putzer, Jr., began his successful window business out of his home, but soon realized he could provide his customers better quality if he started manufacturing windows himself. Comfort Windows started doing that in 1983, and the result is a beautiful, highly functional, extremely energy-efficient window that’s designed with the climate of New York state in mind. We make our own windows and install them ourselves—and we guarantee our customers will see and feel the result of our decades of experience.
