Pros

I met some of the best people in the industry here. We had fun and got to create together.

Cons

- if you have to call out for anything (like I did when I got COVID), they will not believe you and will make moves to fire you. - get written up for “cell phone use” when ITS A TECH JOB AND YOU NEED YOUR PHONE FOR PARTS OF IT - the favoritism is rampant! If you don’t immediately suck up to the highest power in the room, you will be seen as not being a team player. - the nepotism is through the roof, everyone in a seat of hiring power hires their friends it seems, even if they aren’t qualified for the position they have. - employees who have been doing their job for literal YEARS will get lectured on how to do their job by people who have no idea what they do - mass firings regularly. I don’t even work there anymore and every few weeks I’ll see a coworker get laid off (via linkedin) - if you are not a straight white hetero and right leaning, you will have a hard time fitting in. - women working there being undermined and harassed by subscribers or even some of the other employees. - upper management wants to turn out nothing more than boring talking heads videos, and then they wonder why viewership/subscriptions are low!

We really appreciate you taking the time to provide your valuable feedback. We're so glad to hear that you created friendships, did hard work together, and had fun along the way. However, we are deeply concerned about the issues you've raised, including favoritism, nepotism, and how illness and diversity are handled. We take these matters very seriously and are committed to fostering a fair and inclusive workplace for everyone. We value our Team Members' unique skills and backgrounds and believe that it is the only way to have a strong team who makes leaps and bounds in the market we serve. People Operations and Leadership should not only believe in the above, but should practice it. We hear you and are committed to continuously evolving for you all and your experience. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for the care you put into ACI during your time with us.

It was great working at ITProTV, until ACI Learning bought them.

Pros

- Good 401K Match (4-5%) I believe - Townhalls/Company wide meeetings. Its in a studio and those are really well produced and I looked forward to them.

Cons

- Marketing team went from seniors to juniors. People that knew what they were doing were replaced with those that didn't and the juniors acted like they knew more than they really did. - Akward/fake culture in in marketing - The CMO in Marketing let the junior people she hired over-run and dictate things to those that were there Sr and that knew better. She had favorites.

Used to be a great place to work

Pros

Loyal customer base and great product

Cons

ITProTV used to be a great place to work. It was not without its flaws, but most of the people were smart, creative, humble, and motivated by the team around them to work hard and be successful. ACI is an unrecognizable brand in the EdTech space that was formed when ITProTV, Misti, and LeaderQuest were bought and backed by private equity. It’s common to go through change and natural attrition in acquisitions but the culture now is extremely toxic. People who built an amazing product from the ground up and believed in the company are leaving in droves. Some don’t have other opportunities lined up, but the burn out, finger pointing, gaslighting and drama were too much to handle. When people have tried to speak up in a plea for changes, some leadership, specifically HR, make excuses that it’s a personal problem and not a company wide problem. There’s a huge lack of diversity at the top, and it’s clear this affects their ability to have different perspectives. And why there is offensive policies like the maternity leave. When we were acquired, the maternity leave was replaced with parental leave and slashed from 4 to 2 paid weeks. A year later, after speaking out against this policy, it was restored to 4 weeks. However, an addendum was added, only “natural mothers” get 4 paid weeks. Unnatural mothers get 2 paid weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you appreciate our loyal customer base and great product! We are so sorry to hear that the transition was challenging and the culture felt non authentic. Over the past couple of years, the ACI team has grown together and we really have created a supportive and close knit culture. Rather than HR, we are now called People Ops and that has intention behind it. We are here to support you and set you up for success at ACI. We have also brought our DEIB Committee and Culture Club together to form #OneACI. #OneACI consists of Team Members across ACI and People Ops who are dedicated to creating an environment where all Team Members feel a sense of belonging. We have recently changed our maternity leave to 8 weeks to increase the time to bond and heal. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for playing a role in ACI's growth. Please don't hesitate to reach out to People Ops if you have any further questions or suggestions.
