Pros

The work can be interesting at times.

Cons

AEC, Inc., in Sandy, Oregon is a family-run company built on the twin pillars of nepotism and cronyism. You will not be rewarded for your hard work; you will only be rewarded for sucking up. You will encounter HR violations aplenty which will be hastily swept under the carpet. Managers will never be called to account for their raw work and callous disregard for your dignity. Likewise, the HR department only cares about you as a worker, not as a person. Lots of big talk about how much they care. Don’t believe it. The leaders at AEC know that there are problems, but their solutions are half-assed and constantly changing. The only things they are firmly resolved never to change are themselves.

Pros

Very casual environment, flexible hours/schedules, and the staff/management is very community & family oriented. You *really* have to screw up or be completely useless to get fired.

Cons

If you're a Christian, then the Mission Statement is probably a breath of fresh air. If not, well, be prepared to deal with potentially uncomfortable situations like praying at potlucks, etc. AEC is very comfortable with "what" they are. They pay low because many of the employees want to stay in Sandy, so for the cost of living out there it's not a bad-paying gig. Portlanders? Forget it. You'll be paid $7-12 dollars less an hour for a comparable job in the metro area. The company is also very content with the size they are and has no desire whatsoever to grow. They have a great reputation in the industry but do not build on their current clientele. They are very risk-averse.
