Terrible Organization Run By Incompetent Family

Pros

There is nothing positive about working here. It is really the worst.

Cons

No amount of chamber awards or "torch awards" will ever make this company appealing to work for! The benefits are terrible, the "great volunteer program" mentioned is a requirement, I am all for volunteering, but you must volunteer at only company approved events, so it is only organizations that benefit the CEO. Emails and phone conversations are monitored daily. Owner is a complete lunatic and she is a yell first and then asks questions later. So very hard to have to have a conversation with her because she hears what she wants to hear. Good luck balancing work/life, when you have been at the company long enough to finally earn vacation, forget it, because they do not want you to use it. Good luck getting any time off for the holidays. The pride themselves as being a "family friendly" company, but that is a complete lie. Oh and if there is a blizzard, you better be at work by 8:30 am or you will get in trouble, regardless of any level snow emergency.

Pros

It is convenient to major expressways. Also, the building is nice, most of the people are professional and nice to work with, except for management.

Cons

Commissions are based on the profit of a job not the total value of the sale. So if there are cost overruns on a job, your commissions are reduced, resulting in 100% of the cost of the overruns coming out of your commission. If you ask to see the record of the costs on a job you are told it is "proprietary information", so you just have to take Carla's word for it. And believe me, they can be very creative in what they label a "Job Cost". Even if you have had a great sales year, in your review your sales will be quickly dismissed and you will be berated for not spending your own time (like lunches) doing things that would enhance the company. Don't expect a good review no matter what, that's their idea of "motivation".

Pros

The vastly different types of clients to work with was great! You could be working with a pharmaceutical company one day and a casket company the next. Their dogs were cute too.

Cons

The company culture is very poor. Everyone that I worked with while I was there, with the exception of the owners family who also work there, had mostly negative things to say about it. Many employees have quit while I was there and for everyone, they wouldn't allow them to tell their peers that they were leaving. The company would also only make an announcement after the person left, regardless of how long they've been with the company.
