Pros

- Fully WFH - Benefits fully paid - Salary was decent

Cons

If you value any work/life balance then don’t even think about AccelByte. Certain folks at the top will treat work as a sweatshop, especially those out of Indonesia or others in lower positions. CEO tries really hard but his methods to get the best out of his teams are awful. Pushing people to do more through fear and sarcasm can only go so far and yet multiple rounds of layoffs prove he probably shouldn’t be CEO. There are good people at the company but I would stay clear of AccelByte (I would be surprised if they last for much longer).

Pros

They are fully work from home Unlimited PTO

Cons

The management has no respect for work/life balance. They're quick to tell you if you have to work outside of the normal 9-5 M-F to not work that same amount of time later on. What that really boils down to is; you work whenever they need you to and you can balance that out later when they don't need you. Which means work comes first and your life gets whatever is left. The company is based in Indonesia, so be prepared to make yourself available at weird hours to accommodate for the bulk of the team members working in that time zone. I talked to a couple different leaders and HR about how the hours were difficult for my life (kids rarely need things when its convenient) and I was encouraged to make time for myself later in the week and to just keep trying to make it work. The onboarding experience and new hire training for my role was almost non-existent. They stick you with another overworked member of your team so they can teach what they know without any formal structure. In my opinion, their training-documentation, internal-communication, and processes are disorganized, inconsistent, or incomplete. This place definitely gave me the cliche video game industry vibes that work comes before life and you need to come in fully capable of everything the company wants from you whenever they need it.
