I have been working at Accertify full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-Accertify is a cutting edge firm full of passionate, driven and competent fraud fighters.

-Management wants to help employees succeed and grow professionally. I have been with Accertify for 5 years and have seen people start as entry level work their way up to leadership roles. I have also seen numerous employees apply for different roles in other departments to continue their career growth with full support of management.

-The typical work week is four days on and three days off. Management tries to guarantee at least 2 days off in a row. You are also guaranteed to have either Saturday or Sunday off each week.

-Overtime opportunities are plentiful. Overtime is offered based on staffing needs and is only given to you if you ask for it. That said, if you agree to work overtime the previous scheduling parameters cannot be guaranteed. Example: If you work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday and agree to take an overtime shift on Friday, you would not get two days off in a row.

-Celebrations are commonplace! In my five years with the company we have celebrated weddings, expecting parents and award winners. You can really see the sense of community and caring when the department comes together to celebrate one of their own.

-You are asked (out of five) year-end holidays which ones you prefer to not work and which ones you are okay with working and one that can go either way. This could be seen as a negative, but you are paid double time for working a holiday. There are nine company holidays that are paid.

-Benefits are very competitive. You can elect to participate in any/all of the following: 401k, medical, dental, vision, and HSA,.

    Cons

-Schedules are not set month to month, and change month to month.

-The work week is not a “typical” Monday-Friday.

-Is not a “typical” 9am-5pm job.

    Advice to Management

I don’t have any advice to management so much as I have advice to prospective, current and/or former employees; your career is what you make of it. Nothing is handed to you, it requires actual hard work. If you treat your career as a job and don’t show all that much interest and invest in it, you have only yourself to blame. If you are a career oriented professional who demonstrates an understanding of this simple reality of life, you will go far here or anywhere else that your career path takes you.

I have been working at Accertify full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Opportunity to work for an industry leading company backed by American Express, in a rapidly growing field

    - The company offers a strong and competitive starting salary with great employee benefits and a surplus of overtime opportunities

    - Training is strong and thorough, which provides the tools and knowledge needed to succeed at your role and the fraud industry as a whole

    - Unmatched opportunities for growth within Accertify and American Express

    - Management is extremely knowledgeable, committed, and passionate about the industry

    - Employees are viewed as individuals, not numbers

    - Employee feedback and suggestions are encouraged, appreciated, and given proper consideration

    - Hard work, commitment, and professionalism is recognized and appreciated

    - Numerous employee appreciation and team building activities

    - Shifts are normally 10hrs, so a standard work week is only four days which allows three days off each week

    - Provides a professional and friendly work environment with great co-workers and leadership

    - Employees are given the proper amount of autonomy and not micro-managed, so high levels of personal motivation and dedication allow individuals the opportunity to excel rapidly

    Cons

    - Not a typical 9am-5pm Monday thru Friday job, but this is clearly disclosed prior to employment and is pretty standard for the industry

    - Schedules are not set, but monthly schedules are released far enough in advance that employees have appropriate notice to plan ahead accordingly

-Some shifts can be considered "off hours" (i.e Overnight or Afternoon shifts), but this is typical of any 24/7 - 365 company and is also properly communicated during the hiring/interviewing process

    - Employees are required to work one weekend day per week, but are given given two days off during the week in addition to the other weekended day which provides a nice balance

    - Employees are required to work some holidays, but not every holiday, employee preference is requested and taken into consideration, holiday compensation is generous (Double time + Holiday Pay), and leadership is always present on holidays with employees as well

    I worked at Accertify full-time

    Pros

Holidays - I worked at Accertify for 2 years and never had to work a holiday that I requested not to. I have never heard of anyone not getting a holiday off that they requested. It is required that you work some holidays, and you get paid double time for it. So if you can handle working New Years Eve, you'll be compensated very well for it. This is a situation you have to be willing to deal with.

Food - They provide food for everyone once in a while, especially during holidays. Someone was complaining that everyone gets fat from the food. Pro tip - have some self control and don't eat it then! Also, there is a gym downstairs that you can use on your break as well as a huge bike path outside if you feel like you need to get up and move around.

Management - Managers are not perfect, just like you aren't perfect. Whenever I had an issue, I would go straight to management and talk it out with them. I never had any issues with being talked down to and certainly have never been treated like a child. Management expects the best from employees and that includes acting professionally. I have seen several employees acting unprofessionally during their time at Accertify and yes, they get pulled aside and are talked to about it. That is real life, not being treated like a child.

    Cons

Long hours - Yes. There are long hours and the hours are not fantastic. However, they do tell you this during the interview. I was told up front that it was a possibility that I could end up working an overnight shift or a 2nd shift. This was a risk I was willing to take because I wanted a job and was willing to be flexible. If you can't be flexible with the hours, then yes, don't work here.

I have been working at Accertify full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-Varying schedule: having worked multiple Mon-Fri banker's hours jobs, it is actually refreshing to break up that mundane work week schedule by having various days off during the week and weekend. It allows you to take care of those things in life that with a regular Mon-Fri job you have to use PTO for such as dentist and doctor appointments. It adds value to that one weekend day off, and when off during the week just think you can get all of your errands or workouts done during the when everyone else is working! Suddenly you aren't complaining like the rest of your family and friends about Monday's being lousy when you are sleeping in and OFF! Plan in advance, and you can trade days with co-workers so that you don't have to miss out on those special gatherings!

-Open Door Policy: All levels of management are approachable and available to address employee concerns and feedback both positive and negative.

-The Work Itself: Preventing fraud for Fortune 500 clients and their customers putting them at ease during a stressful time when one's card is compromised.

-Co-Workers and Accertify Environment: There are plenty of health conscious employees that enjoy working out, watching their diets, and promoting a positive mindset. This was a pleasant surprise in the office environment and different from previous jobs where the employees were habitually stressed and so unhappy that by the end of the week they would be looking for the nearest bar for happy hour. There's a gym in the building that is free to employees, as well as several bike paths around the building to get out and walk around during your break.

-Food: Accertify brings in food year round for their employees. Yes, it's not always the healthiest but they don't force you to eat what's provided. You can bring your own lunch it's really entirely up to you. It's still an awesome perk, and not something they have to do, but they it do because they appreciate their employees!

-Promotions from within the company. Hard work and dedication truly pays off at Accertify. The company rewards those for their consistent and high quality on the job performance. As with any job or entry level position, you need to put in the time too, which may take years to obtain the next level. Unfortunately, some want a promotion within 6-18 months and that's not always reasonable. Keep focused, stay disciplined, do your job, go above and beyond, and take pride in your hard work! Own your own career and position within Accertify.

    Cons

-Schedule- Yes, with a varying schedule from month to month you do have to plan in advance. You can trade days with co-workers that work the same accounts, but if you absolutely need to have off make sure you put in PTO. You can't take PTO starting mid-November through the end the year. You will work holidays, but you are given a choice of one's you want to work and have off.

    Advice to Management

Accertify is a terrific company to work for. It's a pleasure knowing you truly care about your employees and it shows daily!

I worked at Accertify full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    ▪Free food at times
▪Ps4/Ping Pong Table (however beware you are being watched)
    ▪Some Coworkers

    Cons

▪Management team especially the Director are unprofessional. I am suprised as an amex company thier work ethics are so unscrupulous.
    ▪ Instead of taking employee feedbacks/criticism to improve, they set out by writing fake positive reviews on glassdoor all on same day.
▪Promotions are based on how close you are with management or if they think you are about to quit. Merit is NEVER considered, which explains most of the management team.
    ▪Micromanage everything you do.

    Advice to Management

Grow up! Take some work ethics courses if possible. Learn to take criticism and improve OR else step down and let someone capable do the job.
It is suprising that this is an Amex company. One company, two completely different environment and culture. Amex definetely needs to intervene and revamp the management team.

I worked at Accertify full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Free coffee and food on occasion.
    -Easy work
    -Fellow analysts are friendly.
-There is no need to work hard or be good at your job, just become buddy-buddy with your manager and it will take you far.

    Cons

-Terrible management that starts at the top with the Director. She we will call you out in front of everyone and frequently talks down to people. Also, if you ever leave be prepared for an exit interview consisting of being berated and told that your new job and company is awful (real professional).
-Many of the managers are like they are in high school telling inappropriate stories loud enough for all to hear.
    -Promotions are based on favoritism.
    -Awful schedule, nights/ weekends/holidays.
-Team leads do not know how to deal with people. If you try to call off sick your team lead will try to guilt you to come in or just keep calling and harassing you.
-You will be micro managed and treated like a child.

    Advice to Management

-American express needs to intervene and make changes within Accertify. As a subsidiary of such a large company it should not be run like a mom and pop shop.
-All management and team leads should go to courses on how to lead and treat people in the work place.

    Pros

There is no pros working here at all.

    Cons

No work life balance at all. The tenure employees that work their are very unprofessional, inappropriate, and disrepectful. I would not recommend any one to apply here.

    Advice to Management

Management Team at Accerity is very unprofessional and inappropriate as well. American Express should consider a new management team with a new culture without micro managing everyone.

    I worked at Accertify full-time

    Pros

    *Co-workers
    *Free coffee
*Free food (But only because they want you chained to your desk and to not leave the building)
*PS4, ping-pong table, and board games in break room (But you can't use them because Team Leads will notice and watch you like a hawk)
*Three days off a week (As long as no one calls in sick or is on PTO or you're not working "optional" overtime. It's not as nice as it sounds - it won't be consistent days off)
*American Express benefits (5 months PAID maternity/paternity leave)
*Nice job for someone right out of college that is single and has no other obligations other than to work, work, work
    *Up-to-date office

    Cons

*Overtime is required (They will tell you it's optional in your interview but it's not)
    *Zero work/life balance
*Not allowed to take PTO from mid-November to end of December (You get to choose 2 holidays you would like not to work but there is no guarantee you have those two holidays off)
*Schedule (6am-4pm, 2pm-12am, or 8pm-6am & if you are on the 2pm or overnight shift you will never be moved to the 6am shift)
*Need to give a month's notice (sometimes more) for PTO requests
*Management does not trust its employees so you are not allowed to work from home or have your cell phone at your desk
    *Management gossips about employees
*Don't even think about calling in if you're sick, you will be punished later in your year-end review
*End of the year review is not based on performance, it is based on how well the director likes you
*Management does not value its employees nor does it reward them
*Slow to promote employees (You will probably be a Fraud Analyst I for at least two years even though there is zero difference between a I & II except for the title and a pay increase)
*High turnover rate (They are unwilling/unable to keep their best employees)
*Management never has answers about promotions or raises, or anything really. They blame it on corporate AMEX not giving them the information
*You will be burnt-out. A lot.

    Advice to Management

*Life happens. Employees get sick, lose a loved one, cars break down, and sometimes worse. Don't be unreasonable or punish everyone for one less than ideal employee. Not everyone is trying to scam you.
*Put thought into the people you promote to leadership roles
*Once you start to show your employees that you value and respect them, you will amazed at the work quality and attitude changes
*You should probably just revamp the entire department and its policies
