A great engineering department
Oct 23, 2022 - Software EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great work/life balance, low-stress, minimal meetings, and excellent project management. Epics and stories are always well thought out with clear criteria. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and your voice can help shape the product. RFCs allow you to go into detail about an idea and get feedback from your teammates. Engineering management always has an open door and is always happy to hear feedback. A departmental meeting every 2 weeks covers important topics and give you a chance to present to the department at large (if you ever desire to). Excellent processes/workflow, continuous delivery pipeline, and development tooling. You can be up and running on day 1. This is nothing short of an amazing team to work with.
Cons
Exposure to the rest of the company can be a bit limited (although there are monthly all-hands meetings). This may be a positive for you though, depending on your preferred work style. And on the flip side, you may be surprised how many people have heard about you if you get opportunities to branch out--leadership gives credit where due when discussing their teams' achievements.

Great place to learn. Health Benefits are great, low pay compared to the market
Feb 28, 2023 - Internal Operations SpecialistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people I work with are some of the best professionally and personally, I have ever met. They are brilliant, clever, thoughtful, and consistently act without hubris, nor do they attempt to save face in light of a mistake. Owning the damage an error may cause is treated as a learning opportunity. As the company is a startup, the ability for a person to interact with a person from every department to resolve some issue or meet the expectations of a partner is common. This is the best opportunity to learn and gain an understanding of how the business works, from the conference, calls with the partner's admin on the phone, to a quick meeting with the account manager(s) to clarify a partner's request. The engineering meetings are very informative and detailed. middle management and the engineering side of the company is rock solid. Smart competent people are in the places that they should be in to make very real, positive gains.
Cons
The salary for the work is not worth the time. You won't make money above a living salary here. The workload is the heaviest I've ever seen and unending. C-suite managers(Directors) are far removed from the stress of the business.

Great coworkers, no process, and no vision
Sep 16, 2022 - Anonymous/EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Adwerx has done a great job of hiring people! Coworkers are very smart, eager to help out, and care deeply about seeing each other and the company succeed. There is not a single coworker from Adwerx I would not work with again.
Cons
Management is the only downside I see. Management does not have a clear direction or vision for the company. Because of no vision, projects are started and abandoned a few weeks later, which makes organizational progress difficult and frustrating. In my experience management also blatantly played favorites by bending company policies for those they liked most. Management spends a lot of time hyping culture and values they do not follow, making management hard to trust.

Pros
At one point, Adwerx was a lot of fun. The people were wonderful and leadership was tolerable. The culture was strong and we were happy. Good benefits and PTO. Really cool office if you live near Raleigh/Durham. You can create a healthy work/life balance as long as you set your boundaries from the start. Room for growth if you stick it out.
Cons
You were considered a number the majority of the time, it seems like all they care about is revenue and will get it one way or another. Favoritism was incredibly prevalent and below-average pay for a lot of positions. Layoffs after a new CEO joined and now it seems there is a lot of restructuring that would create a lot of hesitation if someone new were to join the team.

Not a good company anymore
Feb 2, 2023 - Inside Sales Representative in Raleigh, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They are a laid back culture that has good benefits and good work/life balance.
Cons
They have bad leadership all over, they did not value employees based on knowledge and tenure, I received deflecting answers to figuring out if there will be more lay offs after surviving the first round

The people at Adwerx are awesome and always willing to help with any questions or issues you have in day to day work life.
Cons
Future of the company is debatable amidst the current economic trends, replacement of C suite, and exodus of employees after layoffs.

- Work from home! - Great people to work with! - Family Atmosphere - Challenging and always something to learn
Cons
- New CEO fired half the company due to "down sizing" out of the blue. - No real internal training - everything is more or less learn on the fly. - Jed was a good guy. This new interim CEO is a nightmare.
