Pros

Affinaquest works in a fulfilling industry

Cons

When I joined in 2019 Affinaquest (SSBinfo at the time) had a thriving culture, loyal customer base, and a leadership team who cared. These are all gone. Through mergers (which started as strategic acquisitions that made sense), leadership changes, and bringing in people who largely are unfamiliar with the industry, Affinaquest is a shell of SSB. There is a new direction to the company, which is understandable, but that direction is under a new cult-like following by a new CEO and his former colleagues from companies he previously served.

Pros

The only pro is working remotely

Cons

If you’re not a white male you have no chance of promotion. People are jerks and don’t care about the company or customers.

Pros

I got my pay check on time.

Cons

In all of my years in the workforce I have never worked for a place more toxic than AQ. When I first came on board I was excited to be part of the evolution of SSB to AQ. The empty promises and lip service from management didn’t stop my drive and determination to turn things around. Maybe I was naive, but I thought (and was told) things would get better. I was drinking the Kool-Aid in gallons at that point. Management said all the right things (great job guys) but none of it was true. Collaboration? What a joke. Equal Opportunities? Not even close. Room for advancement? Only if you are a white man over 50. Regardless of how hard myself and coworkers worked or how much we improved it was never enough. The goal post was consistently moved. Which makes sense considering it was constant chaos led be weak management. The amount of disrespect that I endured is embarrassing. Morale was consistently low across the organization for years, yet nothing changed. Employees are not heard. You are “human capital” that will be replaced as soon as you stop drinking the Kool-Aid. If you plan on working here I have a few tips: Onboarding is a nightmare so get ready to be waiting at least 6 months to get the basic tools you need to do your job. Don’t expect recognition, incentives, or advancement if you are not a white male. There is no work/life balance. Bleeding someone dry is an understatement. It doesn’t matter how hard you work or how many hours you clock, if you are not increasing revenue you are irrelevant. If you want to be undervalued, ignored, dismissed, and made to feel incompetent….this is the place for you! Godspeed!
